LOCUMConsultant General Surgeon, Locum September 2010 to Janruary 2011Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant General Surgeon at Taranaki Base Hospital.This is a locum opportunity available from September 2010 until the end of January 2011, however we will consider expressions of interest for other configurations such as blocks of weeks, weekend on call cover, etc. The post-holder will join a department of five other Consultant General Surgeons with interests in vascular, colorectal, thoracic and breast surgery. The successful candidate will take part in 1:6 on call rota with registrar and house surgeon support. Particular consideration will be given to applicants with an upper GI interest and there is the opportunity to develop a bariatric service. Surgeons with other interests complementary to the department will be considered.
