Thank you to all those who attended the New Zealand Association of General Surgeons (NZAGS) Annual Conference from 26th (Trainee Day) and 27th – 28th March 2021 (NZAGS ASM).
“When Things Go Pear Shaped – Take 2”, was our theme, based on the planned programme and speakers for our 2020 ASM which was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Our venue was the iconic Devon Hotel and Conference Centre in New Plymouth, New Zealand.
Our annual meeting is for New Zealand general surgeons and surgical trainees from provincial and metropolitan hospitals.
The conference sessions covered a range of technological innovations and interests in the modern hospital, registrar research, tips for upper and lower endoscopy, trauma, and hernia. We welcomed a record number of attendees and by all accounts the conference was a great success.
Best wishes and we look forward to seeing you in March 2022 in Wellington! NIGEL HENDERSON (CONVENOR)
