Dr Magda Sakowska is approaching the First-Three-Years milestone as a general surgeon at Timaru hospital, and looking forward to the enlightenment and confidence that has been touted to mark this anniversary. She trained in NZ and abroad – generalising, and working out what fires she is and isn’t able to quell as a rural general surgeon. When not working, being a wife or mothering two busy boys, she likes to unwind by fussing over her succulents collection, knitting designer knitwear and mastering technical baking challenges from the GBBO.
